When Youghal Radio started in his home town he joined the station with the sole intention of promoting Irish music from rock to traditional, indie to punk. As he said himself on his first program I dont care what format your music is in, record, tape, cd, old 8 track, video tape, Any format including live will do, as for the acts I will do my best to play everything from rap, punk, rock, ska, indie, country, traditional, ballads, classical even mime it does not matter as long as your Irish or playing in Ireland or at the very least touring some part of the country, The only criteria is that you must have some connection with us here.
And so the Local Music scene radio show was born and true to his word Shane had all those listed above on his show even the world champion Yo Yo expert giving a demonstration in studio to the listeners.
