Shane Brady came to the studio twice the first time he was alone and the second time he called to the studio and he brought along another musician Hugh MacBrien to join him for this interview. I have to say the story is amazing from Shane who's father Willie Brady was well known and worked for RTE and had recorded so many songs before he passed away at a young age. Shane took up the mantle and re recorded some of the songs his father had made famous, all on an album called A light Shines Out To Sea. These interviews are great in that they show how things progressed from our first interview to the second about a year and a half later. A great singer and a great guy I have to say it was one of those interviews I will always enjoy. The sound quality is not great but hey they were record on tape for the younger listeners out there it was an old format before CD and MP3.
Shane Bradly lived in Germany for many years from 1977 to about 2001 and it was during his time there in his own recording studio he recorded the album taking his time over each and every song . It was while he was here he started his musical career writing for television and performed on several cd's by other musicians. This latest work A light shines to sea, Brady goes back to his Irish roots playing eleven traditional and self-written songs with traditional element. He has a peaceful way of singing and his music is of such kind to which you have to listen. His pleasant voice needs a few instruments only to give the music just that what it needs and nothing more. I have the feeling that the songs he sings are personal treasures for him. He sings like he is telling about his childhood. He does this both seriously and with a smile. I dont have much more to say only listen to the interview for the full story.
