Bobby Lee, a well known musician along with his brother Fergal established Sacred Root in 2005. Sacred Root was formed to help young people realize their potential and dreams through the form of music. In November 2008 the Hot Spot Music Club in Nagle House in Youghal, Co Cork was created. Between 25 to35 young adults attend the music club on a regular basis to write, compose, jam out or just play pool and soak up the atmosphere. The group are currently working on finishing an album in which they have written and recorded 19 songs. The album recorded at Claycastle Studios in Youghal is due out as soon as the funds are there to finish it. The CD is a testament to the talent and quality of young musicians in the town of Youghal.
To raise much needed funds to keep this project going there have been many concerts in recent times in Youghal featuring Liam Ó' Maonlaí, Mary Coughlin, Kila, John Spillane, Mick Flannery, Declan O Rourke as well as a host of local acts including the members of the Hot Spot Youth Café. The next big act to come to Youghal to help support this very worthy project are The 4 of us playing an unplugged session on the 2nd of July at The Walter Raleigh Hotel. Brothers Brendan and Declan Murphy who formed the band in 1989 had many great hits even reaching the English charts with the single Mary from the album Hits for the Tempted. Its great to see them coming to Youghal and for younger people under 16 entrance on the night is free. Another date to keep in mind is the 17th July 2010
